Toddington Services
Toddington Services opened in 1964 as Granada’s third motorway service station, becoming the largest in Britain at the time with seating for over 800 people. It was the first transport café for truckers on a British motorway and served as Granada’s headquarters. The services gained television fame, featuring in the first episode of Top Gear in 1977 with Angela Rippon, and later in the 2004 relaunched series. Operated by Moto, Toddington continues as one of the busiest and most profitable sites, serving M1 traffic between junctions 11 and 12 near Luton.
