Taunton Deane Services
Taunton Deane Services opened in stages from 1976-77 between junctions 25 and 26, developed by Roadchef after Ross Group pulled out. The construction firm collapsed, delaying completion by nine months. It exemplifies second-era service station planning with generous grounds avoiding the cramped feel of earlier sites. Trial two-brand fuel selling was permitted here. A footbridge connecting the sites has anti-suicide barriers installed following tragic incidents. Features Costa Drive Thru on both sides.
