Sandbach Services
Sandbach Services opened for fuel in December 1975 with full catering following in summer 1976, a rare successful ‘infill’ site where slip roads were built with the original M6 in 1963. It pioneered having one large restaurant instead of several smaller class-divided ones. News reports in 1992 described the car park being used for Saturday night acid parties. The 2007 Glasgow bombing suspects were arrested nearby due to its isolated location. Operated by Roadchef, connected by a landmark covered pedestrian bridge.
