Medway Services

3.5 (1 reviews)

Medway Services opened on 29 May 1963 alongside the first 13 miles of the M2, originally named Farthing Corner after a nearby village. Ernest Marples opened the site, which cost Rank £350,000 – nearly four times the government’s requested investment. The unique design features buildings straddling the motorway with an elegant bridge connection, avoiding unpopular two-storey arrangements. The Top Rank Motor Lodge opened in 1987, becoming Travelodge. Now operated by Moto as Kent’s first motorway EV hub.
