Maidstone Services opened in 1997 as the first on the M20, located at junction 8. The entrance crosses the Channel Tunnel Rail Link with an emergency access point in the lorry park. Planning battles dated to 1962 with various sites considered. Until Stop 24 opened in 2007, it was the M20’s only service area. Operation Brock during Channel port delays can close the eastbound on-slip, forcing traffic to detour via junction 7. Operated by Roadchef.
