Gordano Services
Gordano Services opened in 1973 at junction 19 of the M5, built at a roundabout because difficult terrain including a large viaduct limited site options. The original building featured four hexagon-shaped domes typical of Forte’s design preferences. Praised by The Mirror in 1980 as ‘like the Savoy’ and by Holiday Which? in 2006 for ‘stylish toilets’, it gained the first motorway Starbucks drive-thru. The name Gordano comes from Old English describing the triangular valley shape. Operated by Welcome Break.
