Cullompton Services

Cullompton Services opened on 3 September 1999 at junction 28, featuring a unique small building housing separate McDonald’s and Little Chef units. Planning policy created an unusual signage arrangement where it’s only advertised from the northbound M5, with southbound signing intended for the never-built Tiverton services. Extra MSA purchased it in 2003. Early drafts of the Greater Exeter Strategic Plan proposed closing both Cullompton and Exeter services, but this was opposed by councillors in 2024.
