Burton-in-Kendal Services

Burton-in-Kendal Services opened on 23 October 1970, originally named Burton West as only the western half was built. It serves northbound M6 traffic only, with southbound travelers using Killington Lake. The British Tea Council named it home of Britain’s best motorway tea in 1989, attributed to Lake District water. Granada renamed it Burton-in-Kendal in 1996, one of few name changes that succeeded. Located in Cumbria near the Lancashire border, it’s operated by Moto.
