Tibshelf Services
Tibshelf Services opened in 1999, developed by Roadchef after Welcome Break withdrew from the partnership. Located between junctions 28 and 29 of the M1 in Derbyshire, the site was originally planned to be called Chesterfield Services. Archaeological surveys during construction discovered Bronze Age flints and pottery. The government had reserved 19 acres nearby since the M1’s construction but ultimately sold the land when the new private development proceeded. The services sit near Tibshelf Ponds and the Five Pits Trail.
