Winchester Services
Winchester Services opened in 2001 between junctions 8 and 9 of the M3 after nine years of planning. A joint venture between Extra MSA and Roadchef, Moto purchased Roadchef’s share for £9.5 million in 2008. The location drew criticism for being far from Winchester city and positioned where substantial traffic leaves for the A303 or joins from the A34. A southbound hotel opened with 40 beds, but plans for a northbound hotel were never realized.
