Stafford Services
Stafford Services comprises two separate facilities operated by different companies – Moto on the northbound side (opened 1996) and Roadchef on the southbound (opened 1999), positioned one mile apart. The northbound was Pentagram’s trial for Granada’s new brand identity and the first to gain a Costa Coffee in 2000. Archaeological surveys found medieval and post-medieval artifacts but missed a possible Bronze Age ring ditch. Both sides were designed 67 metres from the motorway for future widening.
