Carnforth Services is located near the M6 junction for Carnforth in Lancashire, providing facilities for travelers on the motorway and those visiting the nearby town. Carnforth itself is famous for its railway station, which featured in the classic film Brief Encounter. The services offer standard motorway amenities and serve as a gateway to the Lake District and Lancashire coast. The area was considered for service area development during M6 planning but circumstances led to Burton-in-Kendal serving northbound traffic instead.
